About Moab and the Parks

Nestled in the heart of the American Southwest, Moab, Utah is a true desert gem. The region is home to two of the most iconic national parks in the country - Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. These parks offer visitors the chance to explore the natural wonders of the region, from towering sandstone arches to sweeping vistas of red rock canyons.

Arches National Park is a testament to the incredible geological forces that have shaped the landscape of the American Southwest over millions of years. The park is home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, as well as countless other geological formations such as fins, pinnacles, and balanced rocks. Visitors can take a scenic drive through the park, hike to some of the most famous arches such as Delicate Arch and Landscape Arch, or simply marvel at the incredible rock formations that seem to defy gravity.

Canyonlands National Park is another must-see destination in the Moab area. The park is divided into three distinct regions - the Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze - each offering a unique experience for visitors. The Island in the Sky region is the most popular, offering stunning views of the canyons and mesas that make up this dramatic landscape. Visitors can hike to the park's many overlooks, take a scenic drive along the White Rim Road, or even embark on a multi-day backpacking trip through the park's backcountry.

But Moab is more than just its two famous national parks. The area is also home to a vibrant outdoor recreation scene, with world-class mountain biking, rock climbing, and river rafting opportunities. The nearby Colorado River offers visitors the chance to take a scenic float trip or an adrenaline-pumping white water rafting adventure. And for those looking for a bit of relaxation, there are numerous hot springs in the area where visitors can soak in the warm mineral waters and take in the stunning desert views.

Moab is also a town rich in history and culture, with a thriving arts scene and numerous galleries and museums to explore. Visitors can learn about the area's rich Native American history at the Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum or take in a performance at the Moab Arts and Recreation Center.

Overall, Moab, Utah and its surrounding national parks are a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and outdoor adventure that the American Southwest has to offer. With its stunning geological formations, world-class outdoor recreation opportunities, and rich cultural history, Moab truly has something for everyone.

Why is the retreat so inexpensive?

We believe that personal and business growth and development should be accessible to everyone. That's why we're committed to offering both of the highest caliber and affordable retreats. We're able to keep our prices low for several reasons. First, we prioritize finding venues that offer excellent value for money without sacrificing quality.

Second, we work hard to negotiate with our suppliers and partners to get the best possible prices without compromising on the quality of our programs.

Finally, we have streamlined our operations and work efficiently to keep our costs down, allowing us to pass these savings to our participants. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to invest in their personal and business growth and well-being, regardless of their budget.

We're proud to offer an affordable option that doesn't compromise on quality, and we hope that you'll join us for an unforgettable retreat experience.

What if I get sick, or something comes up, and I can’t attend? Can I get a refund?

Thank you for considering our retreat. We understand that unexpected events may arise, and participants may need to cancel their attendance at one of our retreats. However, we do not offer refunds for cancellations. This is because, upon registration, the funds are immediately allocated to cover the costs of producing the retreat, including venue rentals, catering, and materials. As a result, we cannot recover these expenses and offer refunds after the registration deadline has passed.

We highly recommend you obtain travel insurance to protect you against unforeseen events, such as flight cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost luggage. We want our participants to enjoy their experience without worrying about unexpected expenses or disruptions. By taking the simple step of obtaining travel insurance, you can travel with confidence and focus on enjoying your adventure to the fullest.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending the retreat. However, our no-refund policy allows us to maintain the high quality of our program and make necessary arrangements for our staff and resources.

We invest significant time and resources in preparing for each retreat, and we are committed to providing our attendees with an exceptional experience. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that each participant receives the best possible guidance and support.

We encourage you to carefully consider your decision to participate in our retreat and to make any necessary arrangements to ensure your attendance. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to welcoming you to our retreat and providing you with an enriching and transformative experience.

How physically strenuous is the retreat?

Our upcoming retreat is designed to push participants outside of their comfort zones and challenge them to do hard things. While the retreat won't include activities like cliff diving or repelling, we will embark on longer hikes and explore some breathtaking scenery, which may involve walking along the edge of some high cliffs.

We want all participants to feel challenged and invigorated by the experiences we offer without pushing anyone beyond their physical limits. The retreat is designed to be of medium strenuousness, with activities that will challenge participants' strength and endurance while also allowing them to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Our experienced and knowledgeable guides will be with participants every step of the way, ensuring that everyone is safe and comfortable during all activities. We encourage all participants to come prepared and willing to push themselves while also respecting their own limits and taking breaks when necessary.

Ultimately, we aim to create a supportive and inspiring environment where participants can challenge themselves, explore new experiences, and emerge from the retreat with renewed energy and a sense of accomplishment.

Will there be alcohol at the retreat?

We value the health and well-being of our participants and staff above all else. For this reason, we have decided that there will be no alcohol served or allowed at our retreat. We understand that some participants may enjoy the occasional drink. Still, we believe that a sober environment is essential for creating a safe and supportive atmosphere for personal growth and development.

Furthermore, our insurance policy does not cover alcohol-related incidents, which means that any accidents or injuries resulting from alcohol consumption would not be covered. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating an environment that supports our shared goals of personal growth and well-being.

What if I don’t know anyone else going to the retreat?

We understand that attending an event where you don't know anyone can be challenging. That's why we've created a series of four pre-retreat virtual trainings designed to help you and your business thrive while also allowing you to get to know other participants before the retreat even begins.

These trainings will focus on various topics related to personal and professional growth. They will also allow you to connect with other participants in a relaxed and informal setting.

By participating in these virtual trainings, you'll have the opportunity to meet other attendees and begin building relationships before the retreat even starts. This means that when you arrive at the retreat, you'll already have familiar faces to look forward to meeting in person, making the experience more enjoyable and less intimidating.

We believe in the power of community and connection and are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels supported and valued. We're excited to offer these pre-retreat virtual trainings at no extra charge to help you prepare for the retreat, both personally and professionally, and to help you build relationships with other like-minded individuals.

Information about these trainings will be sent out at a later date.

What is the format of the retreat?

We understand that personal growth and development require a holistic approach that balances education, self-discovery, and relaxation. For this reason, we've designed our retreat format to incorporate a variety of trainings, transformational experiences, fun activities, and downtime for reflection and processing.

Our retreats feature a mixture of workshops and interactive sessions led by experienced professionals who are passionate about helping individuals achieve their full potential. These trainings are designed to be engaging, thought-provoking, and actionable, providing participants with practical tools and strategies to apply to their daily lives and businesses.

In addition to the training sessions, we offer transformational experiences that challenge participants to step outside their comfort zones and explore new aspects of themselves. These experiences may include outdoor adventures, creative workshops, or group activities that promote teamwork, communication, and personal growth.

We also recognize the importance of fun and relaxation in the retreat experience. That's why we build in plenty of time for downtime, where participants can rest, recharge, and process what they've learned. This time can be spent exploring the local area, connecting with other participants, or simply relaxing and reflecting.

At our retreats, we believe that a balanced approach to personal growth and development is the key to success. We're committed to providing a transformative experience incorporating education, self-discovery, relaxation, and fun so our participants feel empowered, inspired, and ready to take on the world.

What if I can’t pay in full for the retreat?

We believe that personal growth and development should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. We understand that paying for a retreat can be a significant expense, so we offer flexible payment options to help make it easier for our participants.

If a participant cannot pay in full at the time of registration, they can opt to make a two-part payment. In this case, the first payment is due at the time of registration, and the second payment is due 60 days later. Please note that this option has an additional $100 processing fee on the second payment to cover the extra administrative and payment processing costs.

We're committed to making sure that everyone who wants to attend our retreat has the opportunity to do so. If a participant cannot cover the cost of the retreat with the pay in full or the two-payment option, we encourage them to contact us to discuss their options. We may be able to offer alternative payment plans or connect them with resources to help cover the costs.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

We understand that a healthy and balanced diet is essential to personal well-being. We also recognize that everyone has unique dietary needs and restrictions, which is why we strive to accommodate a wide range of dietary needs at our retreats.

We offer various dietary options, including vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and keto options. We believe everyone should have access to delicious, healthy food that meets their needs and preferences.

We will send out a survey closer to the retreat date to ensure that we can provide our participants with the best possible dining experience. This survey will allow participants to share any dietary restrictions or needs they may have so that we can plan accordingly and provide the necessary options.

Is the retreat religious or spiritual?

At Life on Purpose Academy, we believe in the power of a higher being, and we may occasionally bring up this belief during our training sessions. However, we understand that not everyone shares our perspective, and we don't expect them to.

We respect the diversity of opinions and beliefs within our team and encourage our clients to put this belief on a mental shelf if it doesn't resonate with them. Ultimately, our goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can feel comfortable expressing themselves, regardless of their spiritual or religious affiliations.

Are airfare and transportation included?

Please note that airfare is not included in the price of our retreat. However, we have arranged for transportation to and from the airport at specific times on arrival and departure dates. We are happy to provide these services to all our participants free of charge.

While we try our best to accommodate everyone, there may be instances where participants need to make other arrangements to get to the lodge or airport. In such cases, we'll gladly provide assistance and guidance on alternative transportation options.

We recommend booking your flights well in advance to ensure availability and the best possible prices. If you have any questions about transportation or need any assistance with travel arrangements, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're committed to ensuring that all our participants have a stress-free and enjoyable travel experience

Can I come late or leave early if the dates don’t exactly work for me?

For group retreats, you are encouraged to arrive or depart on the designated arrival/departure days at whatever time works best for your travel schedule. We will have transportation arranged at set times to and from nearby airports. Anything outside of these arranged times will need to be coordinated by you, and we are happy to float suggestions to make it easier.

Please note that these retreats have a specific focus for each day. Outside of the designated arrival/departure days, if you come late or leave early, you will likely miss something connected to the overall results we want for you. We don't want you to miss anything, so late arrivals/departures (other than on designated arrival/departure days) are not recommended.

How should I prepare for the retreat?

At our upcoming retreat, we are focused on doing hard things and want to ensure all participants are prepared to get the most out of their experience. This means taking care of themselves and their responsibilities before the retreat begins.

Physical preparation is essential to this, as there will be hikes and other physical activities during the retreat. We encourage all participants to get in shape and take steps to ensure their physical well-being before arriving at the retreat.

It's also important for participants to take care of any personal or professional responsibilities before the retreat, including making arrangements for childcare and ensuring that their work commitments are taken care of. This will allow participants to fully engage in the retreat without worrying about outside distractions.

During the retreat, we encourage participants to take advantage of the opportunity to work on their business, not just in it. This means taking time to reflect, strategize, and connect with other like-minded individuals in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Ultimately, our goal is to provide a space where participants can refresh, recharge, and gain new insights and perspectives on how to tackle hard things in their personal and professional lives. By preparing themselves and their responsibilities before the retreat, participants will be able to fully engage in this transformative experience and emerge with renewed energy and inspiration.
